September 2019 eNews
Finally, UFWDA are back online with a website. Some web pages still  have limited content as we work to regenerate information. However the site is back and the aim is to keep it updated and refreshed as much as possible.

I'm aiming to visit the SEMA Show /UFWDA Annual Meeting this year and then spend a few days investigating possible places that might welcome some four wheelers from New Zealand. Rubicon, Moab, Grand Junction, Ouray???

Your input of topical material for each eNews is still vital, so please keep UFWDA and our readers informed by emailing  before the 10th of each month. If your organization has a website with interesting stories etc. then send a link to the Editor

Website Update

The new website is of course built in HTML5 and set up to format on a variety of devices for your convenience.
Besides being the UFWDA editor of The Voice and eNews, i've extended that role to webmaster for the moment and am currently responsible for managing the content.

It is hoped that we may be able to often refresh some content, such as photos, as there is an option to create 'Galleries' of images and also include Youtube  videos. I've include a small sample gallery here.

Membership information is under review as UFWDA try to simplify the process and minimize costs, so that your fees are used to best effect for our recreation. We'll be inviting renewals and new memberships as soon as possible!

We're going to have to go back to 'square one' as far as working with the business world and re-establish relationships around advertising. If advertising with UFWDA interests you, please contact me by email.

    UFWDA Annual General Meeting
                      (AGM) 2019

This meeting is being held during the SEMA Show on Wednesday Novenber 6 2019, but will also be online as a 'Webinar' that members can participate in. If you are attending SEMA then please join us on the day to vote etc.

To register to join the GoTo webinar, please email your name to Steve Egbert  You'll then receive an invitation with the details of the meeting  webinar.

Roles for election this year are Treasurer, Vice-President, Director of Public Relations and Director of Environmental Affairs.  Additionally there are vacancies in the roles of Public Relations Director and Business Development Manager. These positions are all volunteer roles.

This is your annual chance to help make a difference to the future of four wheeling and United Four Wheel Drive Associations. Nominate yourself now with a short resume by email

Participation is the 'key' word with those vital Director roles due for election this year. To invigorate UFWDA we need  some additional passionate four wheelers to guide our growth and influence over the next few years.

Have you ever had a look at the UFWDA Environmental Affairs Director's Facebook page?
Working with the 'Private Parks'

While public lands still provide much of the land for 4x4 recreation, in some areas that resource is very limited and the only alternative is private land.  It can be hard to establish a venture such as a 4x4 recreation venue/ park and recognizing that, UFWDA may be able to assist.

We're here to encourage recreation opportunities, so talk with us... perhaps some free marketing in the UFWDA Voice as a start?

Proposed New Fee Sites: The Lolo National Forest

The Lolo National Forest is proposing to charge new fees at four day-use sites, three recreation rental facilities and seven campgrounds across the Forest as described in the supplementary section of this notice.
Send any comments about these fee proposals by October 16, 2019

Ashley National Forest, Utah and Wyoming; Revision of Ashley National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan

The USDA Forest Service is revising the Land Management Plan (Forest Plan) for the Ashley National Forest and preparing an environmental impact statement (EIS). Comments concerning the scope of the analysis must be received by November 8, 2019.

Help us with the creation of the UFWDA 'Voice'

To create an edition of the UFWDA Voice online magazine requires sourcing a variety of content and with a great geographic area to cover,  we have to rely on willing contributors to fill those pages.

As 'Editor' it would be great to be able to spend time attending events and club activities, but sadly the system just can't accomodate  the time and travel costs!

That then means we need to ask you, our readers and members, to send  us some of your photos of your four wheeling and maybe even a few words describing the activity?

It is time again to create another edition of the UFWDA Voice, so please make that effort and send in those articles about 4x4 adventures. I'm setting a deadline of 14 October 2019

Links to Facebook, or other locations where you've posted pictures etc are welcomed too.
