September 2018 eNews

Circumstances conspired in August to mean that we missed sending out an eNews to summarize the Annual General Meeting held during July, for which we apologize..

The webinar AGM had a modest participation of members, ambassador members and your BoD, to hear that UFWDA has its finances running in the 'black' and almost $16,000 ahead of 2017 at the same time.

Our new database is still being 'bedded in' and consequently did not generate the 2017/18  invoices that many of our member organizations require before they will make payments. That is about to happen for this financial year.
To achieve better application of the membership database, Tom Mandera has relinquished the role of President and taken on the task of Membership Director.. thank you Tom!

To fill the role of President, Steve Egbert has moved up from Vice President and that role is now handled by Ray Stanley.
I'm still holding the reins  of the International Vice President and UFWDA Editor roles.

UFWDA welcome Ashlynn Smith to the role of Public Relations Director, and with her existing role as a Regional Director with  the Off Road Business Association (ORBA), UFWDA looks forward to raising our profile in the 4x4 world.

Because we ran the meeting as a webinar, we are able to record the entire meeting and if you wish to review that recording, it is on our website https://www.ufwda.org/who-we-are/reference-material/  (1 hour and 10 minutes long)

A reminder again that the UFWDA ‘online’ store is temporarily disabled as we need to find a volunteer to manage the stock. The donation function is however still available and your support is most welcome.

Your input of topical material for each eNews is still vital, so please keep UFWDA and our readers informed by emailing  before the 10th of each month. If your organization has a website with interesting stories etc. then send a link to editor@ufwda.org

Have you ever had a look at the UFWDA Land Use Director's Facebook page?

Take a look at the pictures with this article and you'll get a clue about why those who fight daily to keep trails open, become absolutely livid when we see people driving off-trail.

Because of a very few, ALL of us must do without a new trail system. Remind users that when you have a perfectly good trail in front of you... USE IT!! Stay ON the trail. Do NOT make it wider.

      UFWDA Annual Award Recipients

Congratulations...

The JACK EDWARDS MEMORIAL AWARD was awarded to Jerry Smith and his Grand Mesa Jeep Club  from Colorado, who have together been intrumental in reopening many neglected 4x4 trails over recent years.

The FOUR WHEELER OF THE YEAR AWARD is designed to recognize, on a
national level, the overall significant achievements and contributions of individuals to the sport of recreational four wheeling and for 2018 it was awarded to Ray Stanley of Southern Four Wheel Drive Association

UFWDA 'VOICE' NEEDS YOUR HELP

To create an edition of the UFWDA Voice online magazine requires sourcing a variety of content and with a great geographic area to cover,  we have to rely on willing contributors to fill those pages.

As 'Editor' it would be great to be able to spend time attending events and club activities, but sadly the system just can't accomodate  the time and travel costs!

That then means we need to ask you our readers and members to consider sending us some of your photos of your four wheeling and maybe even a few words describing the activity?

There is a planned UFWDA Voice that it would be great to get published by the end of September, so let's have those pictures etc now .. or before Monday 17 September and you may find them published!
