June 2018 eNews

This editon has details of the upcoming AGM for UFWDA and we encourage you to take the time to join the online webinar.

In fact we'd like you to think about being an active part of UFWDA to guide and assist this organization into the future.
UFWDA has strengths that can't be automated and will always require people to help manage them.

UFWDA do recognize that this notice period for the AGM is not as laid down in our SOP's, but given that we're saving everyone travel time etc. with an evening meeting that you can attend from almost anywhere, we hope that we are excused and you will join us.

The Summer solstice has already passed for 2018, so it's time to get out and enjoy your Summer, but take care,Tread Lightly! and Stay the Trail.

A reminder again that the UFWDA ‘online’ store is temporarily disabled as we need to find a volunteer to manage that. The donation function is however still available and your support is most welcome.

Your input of topical material for each eNews is still vital, so please keep UFWDA and our readers informed by emailing  before the 10th of each month. If your organization has a website with interesting stories etc. then send a link to

Member organizations of UFWDA, we need

your help to update our delegate list.

Nominated Delegates are the direct contact points with member organizations.

After many many years, the system that hosted the UFWDA emails was suddenly discontinued earlier this year, which left us without our direct link to delegates.
We also recognize that some of those email addresses probably needed updating and  that some member organizations possibly did not even have a delegate to UFWDA at all.

UFWDA would be pleased to get updates on all delegates email addresses as soon as possible so that we can keep the information flow going in both directions,

Please update your Delegate's email addresses to
Have you ever had a look at the UFWDA Land Use Director's Facebook page?

              UFWDA annual Awards

The JACK EDWARDS MEMORIAL AWARD is named in honor of Jack  Edwards, a long time, dedicated four wheeler from California.
Jack Edwards worked hard to strengthen associations and unify all four wheelers, by encouraging their involvement in the sport. In short, Jack Edwards represented what we all strive to be.

The FOUR WHEELER OF THE YEAR AWARD is designed to recognize, on a
national level, the overall significant achievements and contributions of individuals to the sport of recreational four wheeling

The ENVIRONMENTAL FOUR WHEELER OF THE YEAR AWARD is designed to recognize, on a national level, the overall significant achievements and contributions of individuals to the sport of recreational four wheeling

Nominations for the above awards should be sent to  before 10 July 2018 and should describe the reasons for nomination.

To date we have one nomination for 'Four Wheeler of the Year'

The year opening run consisted of JR and Marcus, Bruce Hickman, Joe Harper, the LaHayes, Micheal Deal, the Stohls, the Queens, Katie Novak, Daniel Queen, and the Fries. We left Double Parking and followed Rocky Mountain Loop to Slab Pile and Wolf Den and on to Dutch John. The trails were very, they were ridiculously sloppy! We got to the trail that leads to the BOTTOM of Dutch John and decided that it was not the day to spend all day trying to get up so we turned around to look for less muck. We backtracked to Falls Dam ,stopped for lunch, and then on to Dickey Bell which, being more rocky, was not as sloppy.
